President and CEO
Jim is a 35-year veteran of the transportation industry. He began his career as a dock worker and eventually became a driver, dispatcher, safety director, General Manager, and is now President and CEO of Fore Transportation. Jim vision and drive resulted in what now is Fore Transportation. It all started with a 1 truck operation over 20 years ago to the 150 truck operation it is today. Jim and his team pride themselves on Fore’s commitment to customer service and Safety. Jim is always available to all of Fore’s customers at any time. Jim is actively involved in the following trade organizations:
- Previous Vice President of the Illinois Truckers Association
- Member of the Chicago Traffic Club
- Member of the Intermodal Association of Chicago
- Member of the Intermodal Association of North America (IANA)
- Co-Chairman of the Intermodal Freight Technology Working Group (IFTWG), a division of IANA
Billy, has been with Fore since 2007 and is Fore Vice President. Billy oversees the Customer Service and Dispatch departments to ensure that all the freight is moved smoothly and safely. Billy is always ready to jump to fix any problems that may arise. Billy is also the primary point contact for Fore’s large customers base. Many of Fore’s customer’s are well acquainted with Billy’s friendly voice in the dispatch office and he is always ready to provide a quote, give an update on a move, or to help answer any logistics questions that may arise. Billy’s background is in construction project management, which lends itself well to all his duties at Fore. Billy regularly fields over 100 phone calls a day while overseeing CS and Dispatch move over 250 + loads per day safel
Controller/Chief of Staff
Jean joined the Fore team in 2004 as Corporate Controller. Her education includes a B.S. in Accounting from Indiana Institute of Technology and Masters in Accountancy from the University of South Carolina. Her professional experience has ranged from the Department of Defense to transportation. On a daily basis she maintains the efficiency of every aspect of the Accounting Department. She is accountable for all accounting operations as well as responsible for both cash management and risk management.
Chicago Terminal Manager
Jeff Weber joined the Fore dispatch team in 2004. He had previously spent over 6 years as an independent commercial driver, during which time he developed a feel for what the needs of the customers are.When the opportunity to run the dispatch in the Chicago terminal arose, Jeff jumped at the chance and proved himself to be a natural at the position. Jeff keeps his knowledge from his “days behind the wheel” and applies it when working with the high volume of moves that happen on any given day. As CEO Jim Apa said: “Jeff runs the dispatch board like a symphony. He knows where every driver and every container is at all times and never misses a beat.”
Jeff is instrumental in ensuring that Fore’s drivers always deliver on time.
Darlene is a veteran of the trucking industry and has been with Fore Transportation since 2008. Her vast experience covers practically every facet of trucking – from local moves and LTL to international freight. Darlene brings a vast array of knowledge to the dispatch office. Her main duties involve her team in processing all the dispatch orders, customer service, and processing billing.
Director, Safety and Compliance
Gus Montoya joined the FORE team in 2014. He began his career as an independent contractor driver for 5 years. He then moved to other roles in logistics and has worked for other major warehouse and transportation companies, which included traveling throughout the US, training staff and setting up new facilities. Gus has had many roles throughout his career — from Supervisor, Dispatch Manager, Safety Manager, Safety Director, Transportation Manager, Project Manager start ups to now being Fore’s Director of Safety and Compliance. We are glad Gus joined the Fore team.
Bill joined the Fore team in 2013. He has a wealth of experience as a truck mechanic. Prior to joining the Fore team, Bill began in the 1990’s by owning his own shop and trucks. Later he worked for another trucking company as a shop manager. Currently, Bill is responsible for the Fore day to day shop managing duties, which include managing the staff, repair and purchasing among other things. We are glad Bill is a part of the Fore team.
Indiana Terminal Manager
Jason started as a professional truck driver and his career as a driver expanded from 1998 to 2002. Then he took a dispatch position and later moved up the ladder as a manager. He started first dispatching in 2002 in the Chicago area and then relocated to Indianapolis in 2003 to expand his career.
Jason roles include traveling during his career throughout the Midwest training new dispatchers and CSRs. Also, Jason has worked and has experience in several different trucking industries, such as flatbed, LTL, and intermodal.
We are glad Jason joined the Fore team and looks forward to helping Fore expand in Indianapolis as well as other markets.
